During his time at Harvard he created FaceMash which later became Facebook with fellow students Eduardo Saverin Andrew McCollum Dustin Moskowitz Robin Reed Chris Hughes while they were all still undergraduates. After leaving university Zuckerberg worked briefly for Microsoft before starting his own business with some money from his parents’ divorce settlement which was worth $500 million at the time (more than enough to fund your own startup). This company was called Thefacebook which grew rapidly during its first few years until it was sold publicly for $1 billion dollars in February 2005 making its founder one of America’s youngest billionaires overnight!
