1. Know What Your Time Is Worth
You can’t afford to waste time. If you want to spend your days working on the things that matter most, it’s vital that you’re able to manage your time wisely. To do this, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself: What are my priorities? What are my goals in life? How much am I willing to sacrifice in order to meet these goals? These answers will allow you to determine how best to use your limited supply of hours per day. Are there certain activities or tasks that don’t contribute positively toward reaching those goals? If so, eliminate them from your schedule or make them as efficient as possible. And while we’re at it…
2. Put Your Phone Away
- Put Your Phone Away
Over the years, our phones have become a part of us. We use them for everything from social media and games to communication and work. If you have an iPhone or Android phone, chances are you’re always within reach of your device. But what if we all put our phones away for just one day? How would that change our lives?
- The Benefits of Putting Your Phone Away
- You’ll get more done! In today’s fast-paced world it can be hard to focus on one task without getting distracted by email notifications or texts from friends; however, when you take time away from these distractions you will be able to accomplish so much more! It might sound counterintuitive but putting your phone away is actually a great way to stay focused on whatever task at hand instead of being distracted by other things like social media or games (which can lead into longer periods than intended). This works especially well when it comes time to study or do homework since many students spend hours playing games instead of studying which can negatively impact their grades since they aren’t focusing long enough on the task at hand! Instead try putting those devices away so that they don’t distract while doing homework (or studying!).
3. Do One Thing at a Time
On the surface, this tip may seem simple and obvious. But when you’re juggling multiple tasks and feeling overwhelmed, you might not be able to see straight enough to realize what is important.
The first step in this life hack is learning how to figure out your priorities. You can do this by simply asking yourself: “what am I trying to accomplish?” Make a list of all your goals (both personal and professional) for the next year or so, then rank them from most important to least important using whatever method works best for you (e.g., stars, letters). This will help you see where your time should go first so that everything else can fall into place later.
4. Don’t Be Afraid to Say No
- Don’t be afraid to say no.
You are not your job, and you can always find another one if you really want to. This is more for your own personal well-being than anything else. Saying yes all the time can lead to social pressures that might cause stress and exhaustion, which can affect how productive you are at work and in life in general.
5. Stop Multi-Tasking
Multitasking isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The human brain simply cannot focus on more than one thing at a time, even if you think it can or want it to. As a result, when you’re trying to focus on two tasks at once, your brain will inevitably end up doing both poorly.
If you’re trying to get things done quickly and efficiently in your day, start by focusing on just one thing at a time. You’ll be amazed at how much faster and better you can do something when you don’t try to do two things at once!
6. Take a Break
- Take a break. We all know that taking breaks can help us concentrate better, but it also helps us to feel inspired and more motivated. Taking breaks is important because it keeps you from getting burned out, which will lead to less productivity in the long run. If you find that you’re beginning to feel overwhelmed by work, or if your mind is being clouded by stress and anxiety, take a few minutes (or even hours) away from whatever project you’re working on so that you can regain some perspective on things.
- Have a hobby outside of work—and enjoy it! Hobbies are important because they provide an outlet for our creativity and allow us opportunities for self-expression outside of our careers; having something else in your life besides work gives you more energy when it comes time for professional pursuits again. It can also be just plain fun!
7. Spend Time With Family and Friends
Why: Spending time with family and friends is a great way to recharge your batteries and get out of that rut. With so many different activities you can do together, it’s easy to come up with something everyone will enjoy. Just make sure you plan ahead so you don’t let work get in the way!
How:
- Pick an activity that everyone likes (there’s no point in forcing them if they don’t).
- Schedule it at least a week in advance so you’re free on the day of.
8. Get Some Exercise
For many of us, getting started with exercise is the hardest part. But once you do it, the benefits of regular physical activity are countless:
- Improved sleep quality and better energy levels when you wake up
- Reduced stress levels and a happier mood overall
- Stronger, more toned muscles (which can help to prevent injury in other parts of your body)
But how exactly do you start an exercise regimen? And how can you stick with it long-term? The key is to make a plan that fits into your schedule and works for your lifestyle. If possible, try to find an activity that pairs well with another item on your bucket list—for example, if cooking has always been something that’s interested you but never seemed like something worth prioritizing over work or family commitments, find a class where learning how to cook will be part of the experience! This way motivation won’t slip away too quickly!
9. Clean Out Your Space
- Clean Out Your Space
This is one of the most important things you can do to simplify your life, and it’s not just about getting rid of physical clutter. Clutter comes in many forms: mental, emotional and spiritual clutter may be the worst. The idea behind cleaning out your space is simple—throw away anything you don’t need; donate things you don’t use; have a place for everything (and keep everything in its place). This will help you feel more at ease when it comes time to do something as mundane as get ready for bed or find your keys—instead of feeling like there are too many things pulling at you from every direction. If this feels overwhelming, start with small projects like sorting through a drawer full of old clothes that no longer fit but aren’t necessarily bad enough to toss out or donate yet (we’ve all been there). Or see if there are too many items on display around the house that could be put away instead. The point is: take care of those things now so they don’t become bigger problems later!
10. Don’t Be Afraid of Change
You know change can be scary. But if you’re going to live your best life, you have to get over that fear. Change is a necessary part of life, and it’s not always bad. In fact, sometimes change can make our lives better than they were before. So don’t shy away from the unknown; embrace it with open arms!
You never know when a new opportunity could come your way and give you what you’ve been looking for—and even if nothing comes out of this change in routine or location, there’s no harm done by trying something new once in awhile anyway!
Remember that doing things that simplify your life is rarely easy
Remember that doing things that simplify your life is rarely easy.
Not everyone can just walk away from the TV, for example. Many people will need to fight through an initial period of withdrawal when they start simplifying their lives, and this can feel like a huge pain in the butt. However, if you’re reading this article then I have great news for you! It doesn’t have to be that way anymore! You’re already halfway there :)
